As you may have seen from my Facebook and Twitter posts, my short story The Orc is the first runner up in the Fantasy Short Story category in Metamorphose’s Magazine, issue two.
My reaction, recreated by Christopher Eccleston.
If the name sounds familiar it’s because last year my short story Sher’s Wood was the winning entry in their Science Fiction Category of Issue one. You can read my previous posts about Sher’s Wood at the bottom of this post.
The official date for issue two’s release is 1st November but you can pre order a half price copy between 14/10/2016 to 31/10/2016. If you pre order through Metamorphose’s website (links below) you’ll also receive a PDF version of issue one for free!
Without giving away too much of the plot, the story is about an Orc (obviously) who is taken prisoner inside a human castle. He escapes his cell and explores the complex while comparing human society to his own.
An extract of The Orc was published on Metamorphose’s website in preparation for issue two’s release. You can read the extract here:
You can look at Metamorphose’s website here, should you so wish: http://www.metamorphoselit.com/
And you can order issue two from their online store which can be found here:

This year, Metamorphose has joined forces with the ADAA (Anxiety and Depression Association of America). Once they have sold sell 1,000 copies Metamorphose will donate 50% of all profits from that point on to ADAA to help those who suffer from anxiety and depression.
Thanks for your support and I’ll see you on Halloween for my next post Five London Horror Stories.
