Recuperate is actually a rewrite of my first ever published short story. When I was in school I entered a short story called Acid Shampoo (what a creative title!) into a competition called Most Creative way to Murder Someone. I came first but I suspect this was because I was the only applicant. Regardless, as a prize I received several books about murder in the post which I’m sure my parents found rather alarming at the time!

Last year I decided to rewrite Acid Shampoo, renaming it Recuperate. What you’re about to read is the end result. I hope you enjoy!
